01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
From sparkling-wine cocktails to a classic whisky drink, the menu at Alcobareno offers plenty of ways to choose according to your mood. The Aperol Spritz pairs Prosecco and soda with the flavour of bitter orange. The Hugo is another sparkling-wine cocktail, but elderflower and lime give it a floral note. Both are listed at 1,300 yen. For something with more of a ginger kick, try the Moscow Mule (1,400 yen), made with ginger vodka, syrup, lime and soda. It is described as a refreshing, not-too-sweet long drink. There is also a Japanese-inspired option: the Shiso Gin & Tonic, made with red perilla gin, tonic and lemon.
For a twist on the classics, consider the Penicillin, which combines matcha and ginger syrup, or the Maple Old Fashioned, made with maple syrup and chocolate bitters. Some visitors have said they chose their drinks after the bartender explained the options, while others were made a cocktail that was not on the menu. Asking for guidance and sharing your preferences can be part of the pleasure of choosing.
For a meal, the menu includes Margherita pizza with fruit tomatoes and penne Bolognese. Lighter options include prosciutto, potato salad with anchovies and bacon, and a cheese platter. The range makes it easy to add a bite to a cocktail-focused evening or take your time over drinks and snacks.
The bar opens from 14:00 on Saturdays and Sundays, making it an option for an afternoon drink. It is also presented as a suitable choice for dining solo—perhaps starting with a cocktail that catches your eye.
